Why outsource what we can protect ourselves?
Plenty of practice management tools hand your clients' tax records to outsourced processors somewhere down a subcontractor chain you've never seen. Amaesa Tax doesn't. Everything is built and kept in-house, UK-focused, encrypted and layered at every step. We do not compromise on that.
Other providers
- Client data routed through outsourced processors you've never vetted
- Subcontractor chains that make "who actually has access" hard to answer
- Compliance bolted on after the fact, not built into the database
Amaesa Tax
- Built and run in-house, to UK data protection standards, throughout
- No offshore sub-processors quietly added to a small-print list
- Tenant isolation enforced by Postgres RLS, not just application code
Everything a UK accountancy practice needs, in one platform
One backend, two surfaces: your firm's own portal, and your clients' white-labelled portal and app. Every module below is live today, and kept in-house throughout.
Self Assessment, live today
Capture income across employment, self-employment, dividends, property, interest, capital gains and pensions. The computation engine handles the personal allowance taper, basic, higher and additional bands, dividend and savings allowances, Class 2 and 4 NIC, every student loan plan, payments on account and the balancing payment. It is versioned per tax year, so nothing is hard-coded.
- Draft → ready → filed workflow
- SA100 generation and HMRC e-filing
- Full computation breakdown, year over year
White-labelled client portal & app
Your clients sign in with a magic link or passkey to a portal branded as your firm's, not ours. They see what's needed, upload records, approve figures, e-sign, and pay, on the web or the mobile app.
- Documents, checklists and e-sign
- Pay by bank
- Your logo, your colours, your domain
Document management that holds up
Files live in encrypted object storage, never in a database blob. Every folder mirrors your working papers, every save is versioned, and finals are locked write-once. A desktop-mapped drive gives staff the Z: drive feel over the same cloud store.
- Signed-URL access, nothing streams through a server
- Internal / shared / locked-final visibility
- 3-2-1 backups with cross-region replication
Billing with a fair lockout ladder
Subscriptions run on Stripe. If a payment fails, access steps down gradually, from active to past due to read-only to locked. There is never a door suddenly slammed shut, and no data is ever lost.
- Clients keep read-only access to their own documents throughout
- Every step logged and reversible
- Staff can retry, nudge, or extend grace manually
VAT, MTD-ready
Transaction capture flows straight into the nine MTD VAT boxes, whichever scheme a client uses: standard, flat rate, or cash accounting. The return stays in draft until your team is ready to file.
- Standard, flat rate & cash accounting schemes
- Draft → ready → HMRC filing
- Every return keeps its full transaction trail
Payroll, PAYE and NI
Employees, pay runs, and payslips with a tax code parser that handles L, M, N and K codes plus BR, D0, D1, NT and 0T, and Class 1 NI calculated correctly across every category letter.
- Every NI category letter (A/B/C/H/J/M/Z/X)
- Payslips → ready → RTI (FPS) filing
- Versioned per tax year, nothing hard-coded
Accounts & Corporation Tax
CT600 computations apply the small profits rate, main rate, and marginal relief automatically, including the exact taper through the £50k to £250k band, so nothing is left to a spreadsheet.
- Marginal relief calculated to the correct formula
- Draft → ready → HMRC filing
- Full computation breakdown retained per period
Bookkeeping on a real ledger
A real chart of accounts and double-entry ledger, not a spreadsheet pretending to be one. The trial balance is computed from the client's full transaction history, not just what happens to be on screen.
- Double-entry ledger with a running trial balance
- Per-client chart of accounts
- History never trimmed just for a faster page load
Company Secretarial
Officers, the PSC register, and Companies House filings, including confirmation statements, SH01 share allotments, and officer appointment and resignation filings, tracked and filed without leaving the platform.
- Confirmation statement, SH01, AP01, TM01, CH01, PSC01, AD01
- Draft → ready → Companies House submission
- Officer & PSC history always current
AML and KYC as ongoing monitoring
Risk-rated due diligence per client with a full history, not a one-off tick-box at onboarding. It is built to support real ongoing monitoring obligations, not just a file note.
- Risk-rated checks with next-review scheduling
- Full history per client, not a single snapshot
- Provider-agnostic, ready for your chosen AML vendor

Security isn't a feature here, it's the foundation
Client tax records demand more than a login screen. Everything is built and kept in-house, UK-focused, encrypted and layered at every step. It is never handed off to an outsourced third party, and never compromised for the sake of convenience.
Tenant isolation, enforced by the database
Every table is scoped by firm and protected by Postgres Row-Level Security, not just application code. A bug in the app can never leak one firm's data into another's.
Encrypted and layered, never compromised
TLS in transit, encryption at rest, and tenant isolation stacked on top of each other. Every layer is enforced independently, so no single failure exposes a client's records.
Kept in-house, UK-focused
Your clients' tax data is never handed off to outsourced third parties outside the UK's data protection framework. We built this to keep it under our control, not a subcontractor's.
Audited by design
Every login, filing, document access, and support action writes to an append-only audit log that is exportable and tamper-evident.
Built for UK GDPR, not bolted on
Data minimisation, documented retention, and a DSAR and erasure workflow that respects the six-year record-keeping obligation. Compliance is a foundation here, not an afterthought.
We never compromise
Security decisions here aren't traded off against convenience. If a shortcut would weaken tenant isolation, encryption, or audit coverage, it doesn't ship.
Your clients get an app that feels like yours
No generic third-party portal. Your logo, your colours, your domain, with your clients able to see their status, upload documents, respond to requests, e-sign, and pay, from the web or the Amaesa Tax mobile app.
- Native mobile app for iOS and Android
- Secure, versioned document upload and download
- Legally-binding e-signatures with a full audit trail
- Clear checklists so nobody chases paperwork by email

Amaesa Tax replaces the patchwork of spreadsheets, shared drives and single-purpose tools most UK practices run on with one platform for accountants and bookkeepers. Prepare and file Self Assessment returns to HMRC, keep clients compliant with Making Tax Digital for VAT, run payroll with PAYE and National Insurance, produce Corporation Tax computations, and keep a proper double-entry bookkeeping ledger, all from the same source of truth your clients see too.
Beyond the numbers, Amaesa Tax handles the work a modern practice can't ignore: Company Secretarial filings to Companies House, and AML/KYC due diligence with ongoing monitoring, so anti-money laundering compliance is a living record rather than a one-off file note. Your clients get a white-labelled client portal and mobile app, in your brand and on your domain, to upload documents, approve figures, e-sign and pay.
Unlike tools that route your clients' tax records through outsourced processors, everything here is built and hosted in-house in the UK, encrypted in transit and at rest, and isolated per firm at the database level. Explore the modules, read how we keep data secure, or book a demo.
Frequently asked questions
The things practices ask us most, before they get in touch.
Which compliance areas does Amaesa Tax cover?
All seven core UK compliance modules are live: Self Assessment, VAT (Making Tax Digital), Payroll (PAYE and NI), Accounts & Corporation Tax, Bookkeeping, Company Secretarial, and AML/KYC. Each can be switched on for your firm independently.
Where is our data stored, and is it kept in the UK?
Everything is built and run in-house, to UK data protection standards, and never handed to outsourced third parties outside the UK's data protection framework. Every table is isolated per firm by Postgres Row-Level Security, encrypted in transit and at rest, and access by our own staff is MFA-mandatory and fully audited.
Is the client portal really white-labelled?
Yes. Your clients sign in to a portal and mobile app branded as your firm's, not ours: your logo, your colours, your domain. They upload documents, approve figures, e-sign, and pay without ever seeing the Amaesa Tax name unless you choose to show it.
Do you file directly to HMRC and Companies House?
Returns and filings are prepared in the platform and held in draft until your team reviews and approves them, then submitted to HMRC and Companies House. Amaesa Tax is a tool to support your professional work, not a replacement for your review and judgement.
How is pricing structured?
There are four plans: Starter, Practice, Growth and Scale. Every plan includes the full client portal, document management and audited support, with seat, client and usage allowances that grow with your practice. See the pricing page for current rates.
